I remember it like it was yesterday. i was in Cornwall on holiday, but the weather was atrocious! It was the middle of July, and instead of the picturesque blue skies I’d been hoping for, the winds were raging. The sky had been grey for the whole week, and on that particular day it was pouring down with bucket-loads of rain. Later in the day a thunder storm was raging and i decided to seek refuge in a newsagent’s shop. Whilst i was there i decided that i would buy a lottery ticket- something i haven’t done for years! I’m not exactly sure why i did, but i just got the urge and went through with it, without really thinking about anything else.

Later that night i went back to my friend’s house where i was staying and we had a lovely dinner. She insisted on watching the lottery as she did every week, and it slipped my mind that I’d bought a ticket. However i remembered and as the lottery plus 5 results were announced, i realised I won the lottery! What a fantastic memory that is!
